Ireland’s first ever Renewable Energy Camp (www.energycamp.ie) which will highlight business opportunities and job creation potential in the renewable energy area will take place in Kilkenny, on Friday, May 27th

The free one day event is aimed at existing and start-up businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs who want to share their experiences, gain knowledge and put forward their opinions on energy related topics.

Nearly 20 speakers from a variety of backgrounds will offer advice and assistance. The Renewable Energy Camp follows in the footsteps of similar events such as the Dublin Bizcamps.

The Renewable Energy Camp is being hosted by Kilkenny Leader Partnership and Carlow Kilkenny Energy Agency.

Speaker topics on the day will include

  • Developing a windfarm project – from start to 80% completion
  • Diversifying your business into the energy sector
  • Community consultation on green energy projects
  • The challenges in setting up an Anaerobic Digestion project
  • International standard ISO 14064 for carbon management

The day finishes with a panel discussion on Job Creation & Opportunities in the Green Energy Sector. Panelists will include Nick McGrath from Kilkenny – based Hybrid Energy Solutions; Pat Blount from Meitheal na Gaoithe -The Irish Windfarmers Cooperative, and Colm Byrne from Glas Energy (http://bit.ly/jMR0xI).
