The launch and introduction to the Environmental, Heritage and Media Training Course for Tidy Towns and Community Groups in Kilkenny took place on the 16th of January. Up to 10 tidy towns and community groups in Kilkenny have attended and signed up for the course.

The course tutor, Billy Flynn, Flynn of Furney Environmental Consultants has adjudicated for Tidy Towns Groups in the past.  Billy has extensive experience in biodiversity and Tidy Town training as well as habitat surveys and practical conservation work.

The Environmental, Heritage and Media Training course which  is organised and supported by Kilkenny Leader Partnership  introduced participants to  the basics of biodiversity for community groups during its first  session.   The participating communites have an interesting training curriculum ahead as they learn  awide range of biodiversity skills.  The 10 week course includes  practical conservation skills  to making and editing a DVD  and constructing natural habitats to preparing for Tourism Town competitions.
