Introduction to Beekeeping

Thomastown School of Food Introduction to Beekeeping course is designed for those who want to consider becoming beekeepers.  Delivered in conjuction with the Mid-Kilkenny Beekeepers Association.

Topics to be covered include the anatomy of the bee, bee types, basic hive and frame construction and placement of hives, and beekeeping tools.

In addition, the course will include information on installing bees, hive management, diseases and pests, making nucs and splits, queen replacement, and honey production as well as other topics.
