The Suir Boat and Craft Club has completed it’s latest project, a mini replica of the old Irish caravan. The project was funded by KLP and unveiled to the public by local Councillor Tómas Breathnach.
Craftsmen and women from the community worked meticulously on the project over the past year. Cllr. Tomas Breathnach complimented them on their attention to detail and workmanship displayed He also thanked Kilkenny Leader Partnership for their support for the project and commented on how important projects of this nature were to the local community. He added that the club was a hub for visitors and created a buzz and interest around the community. Projects such as these will be used for displays at local shows and regattas promoting and educating on Irish history.
The Suir Boat and Craft Club has already embarked on their next project which includes building a trailer to transport the caravan to various display venues.
